DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT

Design for sustainability

Although we are committed to all aspects of sustainable production, we still need you the customer to take into consideration the need for perhaps shifting from pure aesthetics and performance to how it will live on for decades to come.

The design stage is pivotal to the eventual durability of a garment. Choices around style and cut, fit, fibre and yarn, construction, trimmings and finishing all have an impact on the final product. Many designers and buyers will, rightly, focus much of their attention on selecting and specifying the main fabric for their products. However, a garment may be returned or disposed of, not because the main fabric falls short, but due to a failing in a low-cost component, or as the result of a poorly specified aspect of construction or manufacture

We want to work together to a more sustainable future; however, we need you to be willing to commit to the action points as well. Whilst we recognise that there may be constraints in cost and time for you to action some of the points, it is important that we can identify specific projects that this can work for you.

Our design process starts with a blank piece of paper (or computer screen art board!). We then take a the clients brief and research all aspects of what you, the client are looking for.

We have an extensive fabric library, once fabrics are chosen we will develop a full trim pack of accessories to compliment the garment design as a whole.

Sportswear design development and production – our services are as follows-

  • Design of garments – presentation of this is a full CAD drawing offering an extremely good representation of what the garment will look like.
  • Design of trim – presentation of this is a full CAD drawing offering an extremely good representation of what the trim will look like.
  • Development of garments and trim.
  • Production of garments through the process of initial samples through to full production.
